Discussion: High Pressure is in control across the New England Region. Skies are clear and winds are expected to become calm going into this evening. We are not far away from the autumnal equinox, which means our daylight is just a few minutes over 12 hours. All of this is a recipe for good radiational cooling and cold night tonight, especially in the valleys.

On Average we’re expecting lows around 42-48 near NYC, Long Island and the Immediate Shore, 36-42 across most of Connecticut and Southeast New York, and 33-36 in Parts of the Northwest Hills of Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. A Frost Advisory is in effect for Interior Southwestern Connecticut, Putnam and Orange counties in New York as well as northwestern New Jersey.

Here’s a glance at some projected lows temps for tonight.
