Drought Expected To Worsen Through Mid-April

The Spring season, which historically Georgia depends on for rainfall in a year has been exceptionally dry across many of our counties. This is likely remnant of a La Nina pattern, which although it is waning is still having a detrimental impact in the southeast so far in 2026.

Our latest Drought monitor report shows severe to extreme drought across most of North Georgia:

Our projected rainfall through the end of next week is next to nothing as early season heat and dry conditions are expected to build.

We may see 90ºF Thursday-Friday before we see our next drop of rain.
