Discussion: A mid level ridge will move across the Peach State Saturday, while a cold front near the surface stalls across the central blue ridge. The front will then push north next week with heights building aloft. This will set up the stage for a reinforced surge of unseasonably warm air through the end of next week.
The Air Quality Index will likely reach moderate levels with unhealthy for sensitive groups thresholds possible for ground level Ozone across part of the urban core of Atlanta. Even with the light winds, the drought is still fueling a heightened risk for brush fires.
