A 500mb trough is anchored over the eastern US. A couple of shortwaves are rotating around this axis one over Wisconsin, the other over upstate New York. A deep surface low over eastern Canada is moving to the northeast while it’s trailing cold front, responsible for much of Saturday’s severe weather, slowly slips offshore. This should provide an ideal setup for a cooler than normal start to the work week.
Seasonable temperatures should make a comeback mid-late week as a ridge over the central part of the country tries to build back in.
