Sunny and warm but also dry and comfortable today with temperatures touching the upper 80’s. The humidity begins to creep up tomorrow. Thursday through Saturday will be downright hot and humid with heatwave conditions likely for inland areas. Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected over a number of afternoons beginning tomorrow with the tropical like airmass moving in and remaining in place.
Technical Discussions:
SFC: High pressure crests over the region today and tonight with warm and dry weather. As it begins to slide offshore tomorrow warm and very humid air will begin to surge in from our south and west. A slow moving cold front approaches from the north and west this weekend.
UL: An upper level ridge controls much of the country right now. A shortwave trough approaches on Wednesday. Ridging sticks around through the end of the week. Another trough gradually approaches this weekend.
