The first weekend of December will prove to be a pleasant one as holiday festivities kick off in many areas across the country. Yesterday was the big tree lighting for the famous Rockefeller center tree in Manhattan, NY. As a result, this weekend will be a popular first opportunity of the season for many to visit the city and view the tree.
Discussion: An upper level shortwave trough is exiting New England this afternoon as some ridging starts to build in from our west. An area of low pressure over far eastern New England is escaping through the Canadian maritimes, while a cold front continues to drift farther offshore. High pressure will gradually take over from the central US through the day on Friday and bring with it sunny weather.
