6/20: Forecast Discussion

There is a slight chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm across extreme southern portions of the area otherwise it’s a sunny Tuesday. Sunny weather is expected Wednesday with weak high pressure transiting the region. Low pressure approaches on Thursday bringing the chance for a round of rain and thunderstorms. Sunshine returns for Friday and the weekend.

Discussion: A cold front is transiting the region today, behind which weak high pressure is building in from the west. A shortwave trough pivots along the base of a northern stream upper level low and through the region late tonight into early Wednesday. Another H5 shortwave and associated surface low arrives late Thursday. High pressure returns Friday and lasts through the weekend.

Today: Sunny, a WSW wind follows the cold front passage 8-12 mph. High’s Mid 80’s

Tonight: mostly cloudy, a stray shower or thunderstorm across southern areas can’t be ruled out.

Wednesday: Becoming mostly sunny.

Thursday: Widespread Showers and Thunderstorms expected.
