June is ending with a 3.11″ rainfall deficit here in Westbrook. The almanac report will be available tomorrow. Fair weather returns today through early Friday. Some showers and thunderstorms may be a factor in the late afternoon or evening period, Friday. Sunshine returns for the weekend!
Discussion: a slow moving cold front is currently pushing across Connecticut behind which high pressure will build in for the remainder of the week. Some enhanced cloudiness or even a the risk of a scattered shower may linger into this afternoon as an upper level shortwave swings through, but after that things really start to clear out nicely. Another cold front approaches and transits late Friday and early Saturday as an area of low pressure and a closed upper level low skirt just north of New England. High pressure builds in after for what looks to be a pleasant Independence Day Holiday.
