Discussion: Southerly flow around a departing high brings the heat and humidity back up beginning tomorrow night. A weak cold front approaches late on Friday with some showers and thunderstorms developing out ahead of it. Some of those storms could be strong, although it does appear that the best shortwave energy will be to our northeast. 500mb heights build into this weekend as a trough departs east and the ridging anchored in the central US gradually surges in from the west. Very warm and humid weather Friday through Monday. More showers and storms develop out ahead of another cold front late Monday. Warm and less humid weather returns for Tuesday and Wednesday.
