Temperatures drop a bit mid week.

A surge in heat and humidity arrives today as a warm front lifts through the region. An approaching cold front later this evening will help trigger scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be heavy. Behind the cold front high pressure to the west builds and then departs offshore of the southeast coast by the end of the week. Low pressure tries to develop offshore along a frontal boundary late Friday and into the weekend.
