Warm weather lingers through Thursday with temperatures still nearing 90ºF. A westerly wind pattern here regionally will continue to drop our humidity and keep heat indices down. Late this week some unsettled weather returns introducing some scattered shower and thunderstorm development. Currently monitoring an area of locally heavy rain that may develop and pass nearby Friday. Discussion: High pressure builds in tonight and departs off the coast Thursday night. A slow moving, weak cold front descends on us late Thursday and looks like it will try and settle just south of Long Island from Friday into the weekend. As an upper level shortwave trough approaches from the midwest, an area of low pressure will try to organize along the surface front and linger nearby for the first part of the weekend. High pressure builds back in on Monday.
