Mild muggy weather returns

Discussion: Clouds increase tonight as a weakening frontal boundary drops down out of the northwest. Warm humid air streaming into the region will make for a hot and humid day tomorrow with highs in the lower 90’s and scattered afternoon Thunderstorms. Cooler drier weather this weekend with transient high pressure in place. Highs in the 80’s with mostly sunny weather. The heat and humidity rebound as a warm front lifts through sunday night. A frontal boundary approaches Monday and may stick around through Wednesday. Not much precipitation is expected with this front. A few showers may be possible Monday with partly sunny and dry conditions Tuesday and Wednesday.

Upper level: Ridging sticks around into next week. A shortwave in the midwest moves east skirting north along a building mid level frontal boundary by next tuesday.

Surface: High pressure compressing to our south and east has opened the gate for a warmer and more humid airmass to filter back into Connecticut. A weak frontal boundary approaches and passes through tonight through Friday. High pressure builds behind for the weekend. An area of low pressure passing to our north and west pushes a warm front through the region Sunday. Its associated cold front approaches for Tuesday into Wednesday next week with high pressure gradually building down from the north behind it.
