Sunshine and above normal temperatures stick around with us for another day or two. Highs near 80 tomorrow and in the upper 80’s on Wednesday. A frontal boundary approaches our region triggering some scattered afternoon thunderstorms on Wednesday. Warm and humid weather surging out ahead of the front with highs in the mid 80’s before its eventual passage on Thursday. Sunshine with anomalously cold air will make an appearance Friday and Saturday.
Upper level: A pair of shortwaves pass through the area tonight and Wednesday. A deeper longwave trough swings down into the region on Friday while a ridge anchored in the south central US slowly spreads north and east. Heights build overhead toward the second half of the weekend
Surface: High pressure slips to our east as a cold front approaches towards the middle of the week. As the front passes to our south on Thursday, Canadian high pressure builds in from our north and west, cresting over the region this weekend before sliding east.
