Tomorrow night expect shower and thundershower development out ahead of an approaching cold front. This activity will linger into the first half of Thursday before moving out and yielding to a refreshingly cool airmass behind the front.

Technical: High pressure begins to slide off to the east. Warm humid air surges into the region out ahead of an approaching frontal system. A weak shortwave ripples through during the day tomorrow. A broad trough swings down from Canada Thursday driving a sharp surface cold front through. Lingering trough energy this weekend may undergo Fujiwara interaction with a tropical system that moves across Florida and into the Atlantic helping to draw it closer to the coast. This will have to be tracked as we approach labor day. In the meantime ridging over the south-central and western US gradually expands east by next week with broad high pressure in place at the surface.
